OUR CORE VALUES
PURE AND NATURAL
What does Hemp Extract consist of?
Hemp extract consists of a blend of natural occuring compounds known as phytocannabinoids and terpenes.
Phytocannabinoids also known as cannabinoids, are diverse natural compounds derived from hemp extract. These phytocannabinoids exert their affects interacting with specific cannabinoid receptors present on the surface cells within the human body. In other words, Phytocannabinoids activate the endocannabinoid system.
Terpenes and phytocannabiniods originate in the same glands of the cannabis plant (Hemp). When ingested, the terpenes act as an assistant to cannabinoids as they work to penetrate the blood-brain barrier.
The Endocannabinoid System
The Endocannabinoid System (ECS) is a built in biological receptor system in human beings. Over time animals and humans have developed cooperative relationships with other animals and plants in the living ecosystem. The human body generates compounds called endocannabinoids, while hemp produces phytocannabinoids. The ECS’s overall function is to regulate homeostasis, to keep balance, stabilization, and well being in the human body. Homeostatis is a key element in the biology of all living things and is best explained as the ability to maintain stable internal conditions necessary for survival. Endocannabiniods and their receptors in the human body are located within the brain, organs, connective tissues and immune cells. The ECS activates an impacts a variety of physiological process including appetite, pain-sensation, nausea, mood and memory.
